Spain has two genuine long-haul windows: Semana Santa in spring and the *puente* around Constitution Day in December, plus August, when the country goes on holiday as a whole. Everything else is a short three or four day bridge.

October 2026

Spain’s main national holiday; in 2026 it falls on a Monday — a classic *puente*, a long weekend from Saturday.
November 2026

All Saints’ Day, a Sunday in 2026.
December 2026
- 5–8 DecemberPuente de la Constitución●
Constitution Day on 6 December and the Immaculate Conception on the 8th sit side by side — Spaniards traditionally bridge them into a long break and travel. One of the two main long-haul windows of the Spanish year.

January 2027

The first day of the year is a public holiday.
- 6 JanuaryDía de Reyes
Three Kings’ Day — in Spain this is when children receive their presents. It closes the Christmas holidays.
March 2027

Holy Week 2027: Maundy Thursday on 25 March and Good Friday on the 26th are public holidays, with Easter on the 28th. Spain’s biggest holiday window — the country effectively stops for a week.

August 2027

Mid-August is the peak of the Spanish holiday season, when the big cities empty out.
